Tabby Cat Vomiting

Should I take my cat who ingested Calla Lily Pollen to the vet?

Hi all,

If there are any of you who know the answer to this, it would be immensely helpful to me. As I was sitting at my computer desk, I turn around to see my medium sized adult tabby, Mico, licking the inside of a Calla Lily that I had on my tv stand. As far as I know, he did not ingest the leaves, just licked around the inside of the flower. This occurred about an hour ago, and he may be showing signs of lethargy (or maybe he's just being a cat). He has not vomited as of now, but the incident just occurred. Should I take him to the emergency veterinary clinic, or wait it out until tomorrow?

Thanks

Karah

Yes, the pollen is very toxic to kitties and according to this article, it can cause kidney failure.

If you cannot get kitty to the vet tonight, call one of these animal poison hotlines for advice.

Purrs to you and kitty.
