Any Pet Supplies Plus workers out there? I have a question for you!?
I bought a baby bearded dragon about 3 weeks ago from a Pet Supplies Plus and he still has not settled down as far as letting me hold him or even pet him. As soon as I reach my hand in (very slowly) he runs like crazy and wont even let me touch him! He runs until he almost hyperventilates himself! And now lately he has even been opening his mouth at me like he is going to bite me! I told the store manager about this problem before a week was even up, but she told me to just keep trying with him but he keeps getting worse instead of better. If i was to take him back to the same store I got him, would they let me trade him in? I was hoping to stear clear of dragons for awhile and get a ferret. Anybody work there know if they would let me trade him for a ferret, and just pay the extra cash?
Leave the poor baby alone before handling him. Let him get used to the new smells, sounds, and sights. Let him get used to the new home. Once you see him get comfortable, then slowly start handling him.
Ferrets are a LOT of work and a lot of money and time. Most ferrets don't like being handled much, and you sound like you want a pet that likes being petted. Research animals for a bit before you actually go out and get a pet.
