Why do we import so much of this stuff? Are the big businesses so desperate to maximize their profits (and minimize manufacturing costs) that they put our heath issues aside?

Are our politicians so well taken care of by big business lobbyists that they turn a blind eye to these issues?

Are we so desperate for "everyday low prices - always" that we actually want this "Made in China" stuff and we fill the Walmart stores?
