What kind of collar can I get for a cat with nylon allergies?
My cat has a nylon collar, but she seems to be allergic to it. It's not too tight but she's developed a rash on her neck and a small patch of her fur just fell off. I already know she has allergies because she's had a facial rash before that required medicated cream.
I took the collar off for now, but I'm wondering if there's a different type of material that might be better for her. She needs a collar with my number on the tag just in case she gets out and someone finds her.
Might be better just to get her microchipped, cats lose collars (and can get hung on them if they aren't easy release type)
We had one for my cat that was a foam type collar (before chips were affordable) it was light and easier on the cats and had velcro so they could get free from it if they got hooked on something. I think it was a beastie bands collar, they sold them at the animal rescue for around $5-$6.

(they don't all have skulls on them, the one my cat had was a Celtic knot design)
However you may find its not an allergy to the collar, but that the collar was rubbing and irritating her sensitive skin which is already prone to irritation and other types of collars may do the same thing.
