7 ways to prevent problems with the cat litter pans
It is very important to keep litter box up to your standards. Here are some tips on how keep your cat from "thinking" outside the box.
1. Always place pans away in a place that offers privacy. But the owners of Pets must remember to also consider the cat comfortable in its use. If the picture is very difficult to achieve, especially for a kitten or an older cat, he can not use.
2. Noise can make a cat nervous, so avoid placing litter pans next to the occupied areas. Radiant heat devices, such as the oven or washing machine gives off heat that can increase the smell of the litter pan, therefore, domestic animals often stay away from them. Pet owners should not put litter boxes in areas that are close to furnaces, etc. for your pet to use the litter pan.
3. Place the box away from their feeding and drinking. Cats do not like the smell near their food.
4. Make sure the door is open wedge on both sides to prevent their cat from being trapped inside or locked. It is important to have adequate ventilation if you decide to keep the litter box in a closet or bath.
5. Put a thin layer of baking soda in the bottom of the box, as it will help absorb odors without repelling your cat.
6. Scoop feces from the litter box daily. If you clean the litter box every day, you may only need to change clumping litter every two or three weeks. If you notice an odor or if much of the waste is wet or grouped, it is time for a change.
7. Rub the box every time you change the sand. Use liquid dish detergent mild cleaning products, such as ammonia or citrus oils can turn a cat away, and some cleaning products are toxic to cats.
