House Pet Services Sitting

Should I charge a fee to live-in house sit and pet sit for 5 weeks. If so how much?
A co-worker has asked me to live-in house sit and pet sit, two pets for five weeks.
I live about 18 miles from their residence and have pets of my own that I would have go home daily to care for.Should there be compensation for my service although I would staying at their home. If so, how should my fee be calculated?
of course you should charge ... i would look in your area and see what the going rate is to guide what you can ask for ... i dog sit two pugs for a month at a time about three or four times a year, i stay at their house, and i get paid 2000 dollars ... which is the going rate for two dogs where i live ... and if the pets you have can not come and stay with you, i would charge even more for all the driving ... if it is a friend you might want to ask a little less but definitely check out your area on what the going rate is ... you can even email a few pet sitters on craigslist in your area and ask them how much they charge ... but definitely you should be compensated and get on it fast to tell the person what you are going to charge so there is no misunderstanding ...
