Florida Cat Spaying Vet

When I take my cats to the Vet it always cost me a fortune why is this ?
I live in South Florida and taking my pets to the Vet is more expensive than for me to see a doctor. One day, I took a cat of mine in, it cost me $800.00 and she still died. I felt scammed to put the down a sick pet is $250.00, grief isn't enough they want to hit your pocket book hard as well. To spay or neuter them is $250.00.
I once spoke with a girl behind the desk at an animal clinic and complained and she said she understood, because she had a dog that needed surgery it was over a thousand dollars and she couldn't afford to get any relief for her dog and she worked there.
You would think that Vets would be animal lovers. I haven't found this to be true. Maybe in rural area's this might now be true, but in most cities they charge high prices and make it so you cannot afford to help the animal you are trying to save or help.
You do have an expensive vet. It shouldn't cost the same to euthanize them as it does to spay and neuter them.
At my clinic it costs $70 to euthanize a cat. More to euthanize larger dogs (it depends on weight). Spay/neuters are around $100.
Depending on what was wrong with your cat, and what tests were run, you could have very well run up a bill of $800 trying to figure it out.
Living in the U.S., I have never once seen a discount for declawing. It is one of the more expensive operations. Because it is unnecessary most vets that I have seen do not recommend/push it to all their clients. Times are hard and if they recommend costly unnecessary procedures then they will lose clients.
