If you plan to own a ferret is simple and easy, you're wrong! Since they are difficult work to maintain clean food, irrigation, exercised. Do not get me wrong they are wonderful little creatures as pets, but a lot of work package for as little animal small!
Let me start saying that I have two of them the same and are a group within the cage and out! I always wanted to ferrets because they are fun to play with and you may have and enable them to do the little things. I rescued my two foster care, but never intended for the work he gives me!
First came the cage, I have a rabbit cage, which was quite large and affluent than the ferrets to find more or less it was too small for them because they need space and levels to climb and jump. The larger the cage the better. But then again the bigger the cage the more money it can be. Ferrets are in no way a pet flights to be! My cage wise suggestion is to keep a look at your friends, family, craigslist, e-bay, amazon.com, newspaper ads. Must be large prettyyy to be happy. I was lucky a friend of mine was in the midst of getting a new ferret and large cage I give her until I got one.
To bedding of the cage .... I would say something easy to clean and not dirty. They like to go and dig and fluff bedding. I bought this fluffy material in question of minutes out of the cage was everywhere and it was not fun to clean! Keep a small layer at the bottom as it gets not too bad smell and you have to clean it up a little. Usually, new bedding is equal in time to jump on it.
Litter training is very hard! I almost gave up. I have a pan corner litter cleaned daily, but still go on the 4 corners of the cage, and one of the shelves. I think you just have to keep trying with that and patience. The word from the wise. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN! Go to the bathroom many times and if you wait too long not only smell but accumulate rapidly and is not fun to clean at which point I trust that has happened. I conclude by saying ... I'm going to do tomorrow .... Morning comes and I repeat it. It is better to keep clean only.
Food and water are very important, because drinking and eating too much. I have a bowl of cat that has two bowls in it just for water ... here's the 411 on water and the food they like to get rid of them. There is nothing worse to fill their water containers and food and two minutes later to see them dump all over the world. Do not get a bottle of water, because it can not obtain adequate amounts of water out of them to support their needs. I would like to get those bowls of rock that have to reptiles usually have swimming things for them, but it will be heavy enough to prevent tipping back and keep enough to keep them happy. For foods that you could accomplish the same thing but only prepare foods they like to dig and take their food out of the cup so as to set the plate of food in his cage he can not kick out of the cage across the floor. I put food and water in the top at one point ... bad idea .. I came back after a bit and it was all over my floor scattered in a way that still has some of the bed room ... Also for foods that have it may prefer to give them a can of Cat Food once in a while is good for them and keep them happy too I have is I have a ferret pet store.
