Cat Vomiting

cat vomiting
My cat has been vomiting more and more over the past few days- how worried should I be?

My cat has long hair and so sometimes has some vomiting issues. But it seemed to happen a couple of times over a few days and then in the last day or two she has vomited 2-3 times each day. She also may not be eating much anymore. She looks pretty fine- her coat, her eyes. Should I take her to the vet? Or should I take her to the hospital? Or is this just a normal variation in cat behavior?

If it's been more than a couple days, you should really take her to the vet, or at least call one up and see what they recommend. Your cat could be getting dehydrated, and if she's not keeping food down she could become malnourished. Are you keeping track of how much food she eats? What kind of vomit is it? Is it hairballs, undigested food, stomach acid? When does she throw up? Is it after a particular activity? This can help identify the problem.

Sometimes cats look and act fine when they really aren't. They do their best to disguise illness because they don't want to be seen as weak by predators. Usually by the time they really look sick, it's pretty bad. It's better to be safe and at least ask the vet.
