An Indoors Cat Must Have A Fine Cat Tree
A cat makes a fine pet for all members of the family, including children. Cats are affectionate, delightful when sitting on your lap in the evenings and are primarily hassle free pets.
There is however a growing trend towards keeping cats indoors all day and all night, primarily because cats are excellent hunters, particularly at night but also during the day, and can terrorise all the native wildlife in the neighbourhood.
Cats can do serious damage to small native animals which are normally active at night.
And now experts are recommending that you keep your cat indoors every night and preferably each day as well.
And that's fine, provided you understand that cats are extremely active animals, they love to run, jump play and climb.
If you're outdoors one day and have a couple of hours spare just sit and watch your cat for a while. He'll probably go hurtling up a tree now and then and spend lots of time playing in the back garden. If you've never seen it before you will be stunned at how fast they can climb a tree.
So if you're now intending to keep your cat indoors you know how important it is to cater to his normal instincts to play, to run and to climb. Because if he is indoors all day his normal outlets for these things have been taken away.
Fortunately there is some wonderful cat furniture available which does this job for you. And a cat tree also serves another purpose. Because cats love to scratch they are probably scratching up your furniture right now. But direct his attention towards his new play furniture and chances are, if you persist a little, that you can get him to leave your furniture alone and scratch away on his tree.
