How to stop Cat Scratching
Do not like to stop cat scratching at his home, the time is you scratch, or furniture? You know, when cat uses its claws (which I will use a cat for the sake of consistency). You can hear through the thread of tears, or you may feel that penetrate the skin.
I have read of other methods, such as getting a scratching post and put catnip on it to encourage your cat to zero instead of the furniture ... but I realized that my cat is still scratching his arms and some furniture he really liked.
The fact is, cat scratching is a natural thing, and it feels good for your cat (You want your cat to enjoy their right to life?). Cats scratch to mark their territory (leaving odors), stay healthy by removing old layers their claws, and sometimes as a method of stretching your muscles (which is good for your body).
Stop your cat from scratching with this simple method
My cousin has a daughter, 3 years old, so I did watch an episode of "Super Nanny". What does this have to do with the cat stop scratching? Well, the main Overture trick child uses a thing called "Time Out". Simple right? A timeout is the last thing you want your cat - because as we all know, Cats love the attention!
Here are the step by step:
1. Your cat is scratching the sofa, and you want to stop
2. Go to your cat pick it up and put him in a room that have been designated to close the door (maybe your laundry room or the room of your garbage is?).
3. Wait 9 minutes (yes, exactly nine minutes) - then let your cat out of the room. And you're done ... easy right?
Now you have to be patient, it might take several times that the "Time Out" before your cat gets the point. You want your cat to associate scratching the furniture does not get any attention in the form of being locked in a room (for a short period of time.)
A personal testimony of this method - I've done, it works. Each When my cat goes "Time Out", which puts on my lap for a nice pet and purrs her way to sleep. And, of course, is no longer scratching furniture. Now I must admit, I have a scratching post that used very often. And I put cat nip in it (and update it every month or so), because I want the principle of sending for the greeting.
Here are some other good ideas to stop cat scratching:
· Place the scratching post near furniture or cat area likes to scratch
· Block access to the bed or place your cat scratches most often
• Put aluminum foil, double sided tape, or sheath Plastic furniture your cat likes
• Try to zero both vertical and horizontal positions / tablets
• Put the catnip for a good use of posts scratching
I think if my stupidly simple method on some of the above methods, you can stop your cat from scratching the unwanted areas, and keep him happy and healthy at the same time! Hope this helps!
