Alternative To Declawing Cat

soft paws for cats ... declawing as an alternative?
hello ... I have some questions about soft paws .... I have a cat of 10 years age ... I will not be declawed and was just told by a vet that I will not likely find someone who even at his age would ... I recently moved with my boyfriend and he just bought a house and all new furniture ... before they actually move in, I have to make sure my cat will not destroy your things as if our things in the past .. and since it sounds like declawing is not an option .. here are my questions, if anyone can answer ...................................... 1.) The effectiveness of the legs are soft? is fairly guaranteed not to scratch the walls and furniture? 2.) How often to be repeated? 3.) How much have done it again if you have a veterinarian do it for you? (I'm pretty sure they could not cooperate for me) any suggestions or advice for my problem would be appreciated as well .. Give the reading!
Hi, I have two cats at the moment and I do not use soft paws but consider buying them when I first got them. I asked around and everyone said they were effective, but there are other things you can make them better. 1. There is a special spray you can buy (can not remember the name but if it is explained in the pet store I'm sure I would know). You spray the spray on anything you do not want to chew or scratch and it is assumed that the aroma of which is supposed to chew cat or scratches. 2. Another spray that smells like cat litter to spray on the things you want the top (Do not know how well this works) 3. There you can buy special scrapers the cats for some reason, as better than anything else and its only like $ 10 (This is the price of Canada) and are available at Wal-mart, etc. When I arrived my cats do not buy anything to scratch and not destroy anything of mine. In addition, scratching and many other things, spray bottles are really effective. Soft paws are about $ 20 for a pack of 40 depending on where you buy them. (This is Canadian price) Also, please try to avoid declawing your cat! My vet told me that it hurts the cat for the rest of it is life because to stop their growth, they have to start cutting from as high on his finger, said it's almost like cutting on the knuckles of a human being. Ouch !!!!! Hope that helps and sorry is so long!
