Allergy Cat Cat Food
Allergy friendly Cat Food solutions?
My cat is allergic to most chicken and fish based cat foods... which is just about EVERYTHING! He is currently on Eukanuba Lamb & Rice formula and hasn't had any problems as far as the allergic reactions are concerned. The only problem I am having is that he is getting fat. Does anyone know of any allergy friendly light cat foods? Or, has anyone found any allergy friendly lower fat solutions that can be prepared at home?

RC isn't the greatest food so you're right to look around.
The good news is that you have tons of options.
First, go canned. That'll help with the weight problem.
Nature's Variety, Natural Balance, and Evo come to mind as foods that offer what are called novel protein sources. In other words, unusual meats.
Nature's Variety Instincts (canned food) offers beef, rabbit, lamb, duck and venison. I believe their Prairie line of canned foods also has a good variety of protein sources.
Evo has come out with a new line called 95% Meat. They have duck and venison....perhaps 1 or 2 other varieties.
Natural Balance has a venison & green pea canned food that is reasonably priced and is pretty decent. It's the first canned food I used and the girls loved it.
There are probably others but these can get you started.
As for dry foods, Natures Variety has a dry rabbit food and Natural Balance has a duck and green pea. I'm not a fan of dry but these are pretty decent all things considered.
