The practice interview: Daniel Juliette

Interview with Juliette The Danielle Room

by [deleted] [deleted] Andie Ryan

The cult hit The room is quickly becoming in the Rocky Horror of his generation. Originally released in 2003, the movie quickly sank like a stone, and seemed destined for obscurity ... until it was discovered by a small but enthusiastic contingent hipsters of film geeks who love and irony. Since then, midnight screenings have been popping up all the country, attended by boisterous fans who dress up as characters from the film and acting in the scenes in front of the theater. Tommy Wiseau-writer of the film, director, producer and star, has fully embraced advertising and even makes appearances in the projections to sign autographs and greet the faithful "Roomies" however, remains tight-lipped stranger on film production, script and actors. So imagine our joy when Juliette Daniel, The Sala 's leading lady agreed to be interviewed for the practice. Juliette is, of course, nothing to do with his character in the room the deliciously wicked and deceitful Lisa. She rescues feral cats, who like karaoke, and she has a great sense of humor about the room and legions of fans. Andie Ryan finds out more.

AR: There are a lot of unintentional hilarity in the room. Have you had trouble keeping a straight face during filming of some scenes?
JD: Tommy ran a boat very difficult in that sense. He takes his craft very seriously. There was a lot of cracks in the set. However, I can remember a time when I lost. Is the line that Johnny has locked in the bathroom and says: "In a few minutes, bitch." I was doing well until I saw the whole crew in my field of vision, stifling her laughter. I could not help. Tommy left and demanded to know why it was so funny. That made it worse!

AR: What was the most difficult scene to shoot?

JD: I'm sure most people would think I would say the love scenes with Tommy, but the scene on the roof with Denny and Chris R was by far the hardest. Line that killed me was "What kind of money?" I mean, how do you say that?

AR: That was a kick ass line! And as Chris gave him poise. Talking R ... he was a little big. The fact that only a brief appearance in the film, which was in other scenes were cut?
JD: Not that I remember. Although he thinks would have made a great addition to the party scene.

AR: What is your sentence favorite movie?
"Leave your silly comments in your pocket!"

AR: Do you and your co-stars pass time off-set during filming?
JD: A little. I dragged and dragged me half-a few of them with lyrics from a couple of times.
AR: Oh, that rules! Which ended up going with you?

JD: Felipe (Haldiman) and a few cast members who did not last long. The former Michelle and Mark. Oh, and I totally forgot to mention, which was launched in the role of Michelle. The original Lisa Johnny was closer to age, but she had Random accent and a personality that does not seem to fit. There were lots of cast changes before filming.

And I have no idea what they sang together. If I Had to guess, probably sang a lot of Alanis Morissette and Dixie Chicks. Do not ask-it was a phase!

AR: What is your favorite memory Series of the room?
JD: My sister spent a day out on the set. She is 10 years younger than me and she thought was the coolest thing. Greg began to slap at me again and again to get the right to take on the party scene.

AR: Do you keep in touch with her co-stars?
JD: I keep in touch with Greg, Philip and Robyn (Paris), though Philip has been difficult because he moved out of state. Thank God for Facebook!
AR: In five words or less, describe ...
Philip Haldiman ("Denny"): Humor, charming, talented Flarer nostril.
Carolyn Minnott ("Claudette")
smart, sassy, smart.
Greg Sestero
("Mark"): handsome, well educated and classic.
and last but not least ... the mysterious Tommy Wiseau:
Centered, powered by Red Bull.

AR: Do you think Tommy will never know the director of a court of "The Room" DVD? I love to hear the comments made!

JD: Unfortunately, no. I'm not sure Tommy would like to hear what some of the actors would say.

AR: What do your friends and family in the room?
JD: I banned view. Of course, my pleas were ignored. They like to quote lines to me on a constant basis.

AR: Have you made any appearances
of the midnight screenings? If so, how it feels to sit in a room surrounded by fans shouting at the screen? Do not you ever join the shouting?
JD: I. I like to go before the start of the film and interact with fans online. Of course, there were people who recognized me immediately, but about half the people had never seen the movie before and had no idea who I was. I was handing out candy and looked at me like I was crazy.

Only I stayed for the entire movie on a projection, and that was many years ago. One fan yelled, "Juliette, it's hard to be here now?" And I screamed, "Why, yes ... yes it is!" Sometimes I wish I could stay and watch the fun. Our fans are very creative and enthusiastic.

AR: Why do not you stay for the whole movie?
JD: Honestly? Nudity bothers me. I was much more liberal about things like that once. If not for (the nude scenes) I totally would remain throughout the film and see all the funny pranks of our hardcore fans. A review was a guy who went to the front of the theater and began a round tin, while muttering things: "I can not believe continue to come here month after month. "

AR: Are you recognized by fans often?

JD: I used to be recognized more at first, when I came out a lot. In addition, the movie was filmed some time ago, so I have a baby face and hair More über-blond. But I love my fans. Of which I am in Facebook are so great.

AR: What is the question that fans are always asking?
JD: Ha, ha, the fans always want to know about Tommy!

AR: How crazy it is to have celebrity fans like Kristen Bell, Paul Rudd, David Cross and Will Arnett? That's a bit surreal?
JD: It's ridiculous and totally awesome. Awesome because those guys are my idols. Ridiculous because I can not believe that admitting that I like. It's strange. I mean, Alec Baldwin has seen my boobs!
AR: Wow, I knew Alec Baldwin was a "Roomie"! He mentioned that in interviews?
JD: It was on TV a while ago ... I think it was World Tonight on ABC News. My friend called to tell me furiously to change the channel. I almost peed my pants.

AR: There was a prominent billboard in the room I was in Hollywood for some time. It was weird driving on the huge sign for so many years?
JD: This was really cool because I lived in Hollywood for a much of that time, and I did it for a long drive. One of my friends visiting from Texas took a picture with me ahead of him.

AR: If that from Los Angeles originally?
JD: No, I moved to Los Angeles with my mom and my sister in 2001. I grew up in Sugar Land, Texas, a suburb of Houston.

AR: What inspired you to take action?
JD: From an early age, my teachers told me to go into acting. I was always very outgoing and I like to do. I also watched movies constantly. I loved the way the film can suspend your disbelief and capture your imagination. But each increasing in Texas, acting was not something I dreamed. I am a very practical girl. After 20 years of age, was in Los Angeles with my family and I decided that I owed myself to give it a shot.

AR: I have understood that they are now working in real estate. Are you doing that act on the side? If not, do you see yourself returning to the craft in the future?
JD: I love acting so much and at some point I would do it again. But as I said, I am a practical girl. Shortly after the room, some things in my life happened and I had to be responsible and make sure I had a fixed income. I basically have to give that stability to pursue my dreams again here. That really scares me.

AR: Provided when you stay away from the computer business. Everybody knows it's too competitive.

JD: Ha!

AR: Comedian Joe Lo Truglio called "The Room" a guilty pleasure in every sense of the word. 'Do you have a favorite movie-bad-it's-good or TV show is a guilty pleasure for you?
JD: Yes, I do! It's a tie between Encino Man and Man of Mystery. ... And just added: live. "I came here to chew bubblegum and kick ass ... and I'm out of gum." That's a great line. I can not stop saying it.

AR: What are your hobbies and interests?
JD: I am a lover of all animals, but I have a weakness by cats. I volunteer three days a week at Purrfect Solutions Feline Rescue in Sherman Oaks. Nothing makes me happier. I have six cats who live with me at this time. All least one is a rescue.

AR: You get points for being a great lover of cats! What are the names of the kittens?
JD: Kitty, Lola, Tia, Mia, Duffy, and Milo. Milo is our latest. He is completely wild and can not get close enough to pet him yet. But it is spongy cute, and gets along well with others, so that stays.

AR: I have to ask, is there a "Johnny" in your life?
JD: Difficult question. If you mean "I have a guy who treats me like a princess?" Yes, if you mean, "do I wrap it around of my little finger, trick him, then lead him to his death? "No, thank God.

AR: That's awesome, totally worth treated like a princess. And you look great in a red dress.

JD: Thank you, every girl should have one!
