I've been reviewed! (Again)
Will over at The Weblog Review has done a review of Yours Kittily. He declared cockykitty.com "a fresh and unique idea for a weblog" and that "any cat owner would find this site entertaining."
He was disappointed that the site design and graphics weren't original, but I didn't want to stray far from my namesake's look.
Thanks for the nice review, Will! I'll try to write lengthier entries in the future. It's just hard to find the time between catnaps. >^_^<

Garfield is not as cocky as I am.
But he's still funny. Purr.

Wishing upon a star
Well, I've made myself a little wishlist. I hope you don't think I've gone and let my celebrikitty status go to my head.

Old-Timer
Wow, I've been blogging for over a year! Boy, reading those old posts, you can see how much I've grown up since then.

...and then there were 6
Mom is both happy and sad right now. She's happy, because one of my nephews, Guinness, was adopted this afternoon! A young man came over, played with all the kittens for a little while, then picked little Guinness. Mom sent them off with a little tin of yummy kitty food and a couple of toys.
She's sad because she already misses the little guy.
Poor Mom. She wishes she could keep all the babies!

Many many many many purrs and cuddles for bwg! He made the awesome "adopt a kitty" banner that's at the top of my blog. bwg should be called 'bhg' for 'big HEART guy!'

I saw this at Tokyo Tales:
As seen on a pencilcase:
CATS KNOW VARIOUS THINGS
This ominous warning is made all the more sinister by the capitals.
It's true. We do KNOW VARIOUS THINGS. Mwa haha...

Little Guinness
By the way, Guinness is just fine. He didn't get hurt at all by his fall; he was just quite scared.
And he is still available for adoption, along with his sister and brothers!

Cuteness Squared
OK, I've finally gotten Mom to take some pictures of my newest nephews, Guinness (on the left) and Shiner (on the right).
Oh yes, cuteness runs in my family.

Not the first time
It should be noted that Guinness wasn't the first kitty to make that leap of faith. My niece (his cousin/sister), Bailey, did the same thing when she was younger.
Silly kitties. Do they think they're birds that can fly?

1 life down, 8 to go
Guinness, one of the newer baby fosters, took a bit of a spill and gave everyone a really good scare. He fell between the rails of the upstairs walkway and landed at the base of the stairs. Mom's friend, Kevin, saw him at the edge of the rail, but before anyone could react, Guinness lost his balance and fell. Mom went tearing down the stairs in a panic.
Guinness was just huddled and making a funny noise. Mom checked him over and found no broken bones, nor did he act like anything in particular was hurt, so she just held him and comforted him as he cried for a little while.
She took him back upstairs and set him down with his brother. He got up and headed to the food bowl.
Subseqent checks indicate that the little guy is unhurt. He was just badly shaken by his little adventure. Lucky little fellow.

Cat Murderers Terrorize NW Austin!
Since February, cat murders have occurred in the NW Austin communities of Anderson Mill Estates and Spicewood at Balcones. The cats have been mutilated and body parts left in yards in the area. Another partial body was found this morning! If you have any information regarding this heinous crime, please contact Travis County Deputy Sheriff Jimmy Quick at 473-9721.
A reward fund of $500 was offered by one of the victim's guardians. As people have heard of this outrageous occurrence in our community, many people, including my husband and I, have pledged contributions as well. The fund now offers $3,625 for an arrest leading to conviction. For any more information on the reward, please contact James or Karen Wenzlaff at 996-9618.
I can't cite the original source for this story (it was forwarded to me in email), but I can verify that it's a very real problem. Mom's even seen the reward signs posted around town.
A follow-up email states that the reward fund may be over $5000 now.

Uh oh
Mom didn't have a very good morning. I think I need to go give her some purrs.

Captured, tagged, and released
OK, so they weren't really tagged, but Mom did tackle the kittens the other day to put collars on them. It was so funny to watch their reactions! Stain spun in circles. LB kept getting his caught in his mouth, until his was loosened, and Kahlua stood on his hind legs and batted at his. I'm sure I didn't act so silly when I got mine.* I was surprised that it only took them a few hours to settle down and get used to their collars. Just wait until she adds the ID tags.
Of course, I managed to slip out of my collar a few weeks ago, and Mom and Dad haven't been able to find it and get it back on me. Hee hee. I love being naked!
* (Styn's Mom here.) He's right. The first time we put the collar on him, he acted like nothing happened. He was totally cool with it. We were impressed. Now, however, he's decided he's a little nudist.

She did it!
Yep, Mom made it all the way through the Blogathon. She managed to stay up alllll night and raise some money for the ASPCA. Many many thanks from the bottom of my fuzzy little heart for everyone who participated, helped out, and supported this event, and especially my Mom!
