Kitten Update 4:
Sorry I haven't updated recently, but there hasn't been much news, and we've all been way upset about the whole truth about Kaycee. I don't want to talk about that. I just want to say that all the kitties here have been sending purrs and warm fuzzy thoughts to our honorary Cocky Kitty, bwg!
Anyway, things are pretty routine around here. The kittens cry, eat, sleep, play, and poop. (And, bless my furry heart, but how can such little bitty things make such stinky poo?! Not even Spritel's bottom smells that bad!)
We've got a home for at least one of the kittens. Mom and Dad's friend, Wil, is going to be taking one of them for his niece. Isn't that great?

Kitten Update 3:
All four are doing well. They're even learning how to use the litter box. They're still having some poo problems, but Mom said that two of them managed to make some stinky messes!
Mom's posted some more pictures of the babies. Check them out!

Kitten Update 2:
I think Mom's overfeeding the kittens. Whenever I get a peek at them, they look so fat! And they're always asking for more! If they don't watch it, they're all gonna end up as fat as Spritel. (Hee hee.)
Mom's getting a little worried. They're eating fine, and she can make them pee (um, weird), but she says they still haven't pooped. No wonder they're so round. They're holding it all in!

Kitten Update 1:
They're all still doing well! I haven't gotten to see them much, 'cause Mom's keeping them in the small bathroom right now, but each time she comes out of there, she's got a big smile on her face!
She had a little trouble feeing them last night. They weren't used to the little bottle she got, so she'd have to kinda squeeze and just let them swallow. The two black ones just wouldn't eat much.
By this evening, though, she and the babies had gotten more used to the feeding process. Together, they've had almost two bottles of formula! (I don't think that's much. That bottle is small, but Mom's impressed.) Mom says the little grey one is the greediest and has started butting in while the others are nursing. She even got them to eat a tiny amount of formula mixed with soft kitten food. She had to put it on her fingertips and let them suck it off.
Hee hee. Amateurs.
Mom's been using the eye gunk the doctor gave her. Already, the kittens' eyes look much much better!
We're all very hopeful for this group!

Aww, gee! They're so cute! They definitely take after my side of the family! >^_^<

The excitement never ends around here. After another look at the kittens, Mom noticed that at least one of them has an eye infection.
After talking to the doctor, she and Dad gathered up the little ones and took them to get checked out. The doc said they were all pretty healthy, but they all do have a slight eye infection. He also said they're older than three weeks, old enough to start weaning them. (Whatever that means!)
They decided to bring the kittens into the house and take care of them until they can be adopted by others. So, if you're in the Austin area and can provide a good home to a kitten or two, please let us know! (I'll get Mom to post some photos soon!)

Oh wow! Oh wow! I'm an uncle four times over!
Bad timing - painters just arrived to touch up some repair work on the outside of the house. Mom reports that Sister Pete had either already left the yard, or the arrival of the painters scared her, 'cause she's gone right now.
Mom and Dad went to see the kittens, since they could get closer now. There are four of them! Two little bitty black ones that look like their mom, one grey one that looks like Claire, and one pale grey and white one. Mom thinks that one's gonna have long hair like their daddy.
Now we're all worried that Sister Pete might not come back to the babies. But, if she doesn't, Mom and Dad have agreed that they will foster my nieces/nephews! It'll be a whole house full of Cocky Kitties!

I'm an uncle!
As you may already know, I was adopted. Mom and Dad found me outside their new house one night and opened their home and their hearts to me. Sadly, my brothers and sisters were too shy and Mom couldn't convince them that they'd be safe and warm inside. They still live in the neighborhood and I see them occasionally, especially since Mommy always puts food out on the patio for them. I talk to them through the window, but they're still scared.
Anyway, for the past few months two of my sisters, Claire and Sister Pete, have been courted by a long-haired fellow named Beecher. (Mom and Dad really like this show called Oz.) Last month, Pete started to get really fat, then she suddenly got skinny again. Mom suspected she'd had babies! But since we didn't know where she had them, Mom couldn't make sure they were all ok.
But this morning, we could hear kittens meowing outside Mom's bedroom! She went outside to check and found Sister Pete crouched in the shadows against the side of the house. Pete's normally friendly and talks to Mom, even if she won't be touched, but this time Pete just growled! At my Mom! And she wouldn't move from the spot she was in, so Mom didn't go too close. She just put out more food and water. Dad went out a little later, and he thinks he saw at least one kitten!
That means I'm an uncle! Wow! I can't wait to see them.
I hope they're all fine, and that Mom can help them all get into loving homes, just like I did.
Happy Belated Mother's Day, Sister Pete!
(Note from Pam: If anyone involved in feline rescue has any advice for me on how/when to try to rescue these kittens, please email me. Thanks!)

Happy Mother's Day!!!
For you mommy, from all of us catz. We got you a hairball.
We would have got something else, but they wouldn't give us a credit card.
Love,
