Guess who's a year old!

My niece and nephews! Although we didn't find them until May, the little guys and gal were born in April.

Happy Birthday,
Little Bitcher, Bailey, Velcro, Kahlua, and Stain!

Even though Stain and Kahlua live with other families now, we still miss them and think about them.

Whoops!

I just saw that the most recent post was from some time in November. We switched servers and I forgot to update Blogger's info, so I just had to go in and fix my settings and republish. But now we're all back on track.

Dogs need rescuing at Austin's Town Lake Animal Center
These dogs are currently in need of rescue at TLAC. Please take a moment to look at each one-they are all special. They won't go to adoption and will be [killed] if not rescued or adopted by their deadline.

Pen 186, # 256997 Rodney is a majestic guy! He is a flat-Katkacoat/Newfie mix. Rodney weighs 80 pounds and has the beautiful luxerious coat. He is approximately 1 year old and very social and energetic. Rodney's previous [guardian] turned him over to animal control-they didn't care enough to give us any details of his past or behavior. Please take a look at this gorgeous big guy: http://malford.ci.austin.tx.us/tlac/photo/A256997.jpg

Pen 172, # 257146 Cricket, is a 10-month-old Border Terrier mix. She came in with a nasty wound to her head, but has healed very nicely. She weighs about 20 pounds and has warmed up nicely since she first came in. She came in as a stray, but no one has come for her. Her intake photo is what we have-her wound is much better now! http://malford.ci.austin.tx.us/tlac/photo/A257146.jpg

Pen 192, # 257726 Grizz is a 6-year-old male. We think he is either a long hair Chihuahua that lost his hair or possibly a Mexican hairless mix. He is grumpy and won't let us get close to him. I know he is a long shot for rescue or adoption, but he is probably just really scared. If anyone is willing to take on this small grumpy guy-please contact us! Grizz's photo: http://malford.ci.austin.tx.us/tlac/photo/A257726.jpg

Pen 109, # 257789-Gus-what a funny funny fellow! He appears to be a cross between a Corgi and a yellow Lab. Gus is a stout little guy, but un-tall, like a Corgi. He is shy, but will give kisses. He loves treats too. Gus is approximately 1 year old. See his funny picture: http://malford.ci.austin.tx.us/tlac/photo/A257789.jpg

All of the above animals have deadlines of Wednesday, April 3rd.

These animals can be adopted through the Red Alert program, contact the adoption office at 512 972-6045.

Rescuers-please contact the rescue office at 512 972 6099, or reply via email.

Have you missed me?

I'm sorry that I haven't posted in a while. Mom's been hogging the computer. I thought about sneaking on while she was at SXSW, but it was more fun to just nap instead.

Today is Spay Day USA!

Visit the official site for valuable information about spaying and neutering your four-legged family members.

Note: If you live in or around Austin, Texas, the local SPCA has a voucher program that's worth $25 off a spay or neuter operation! And if you go to the Northwest Hills Pet Clinic, they only charge $15 for a neuter, so the operation is as good as free! Plus they take really good care of your loved ones. (I speak from personal experience!)

I showed this to Mommy and she made me promise I'd never do this.

I would never dream of it. I mean after all, she gives me lots of food! And catnip! Purrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I'm free!

1 and a half hours is all it took to get that stupid bandage off my foot!

Whoops, gotta hide. Mom doesn't look happy.

Oops

Earlier today, Mom was feeding the outside kitties and when she came back inside, I decided to skip out and get some fresh air. That turned out to not be such a good idea. The outside is a lot bigger than I remember, and I got a little scared. I couldn't find my way back in, and I just kept running around until I heard Mom calling, then I let her pick me up and take me back inside.

I hadn't even realized it, but I cut my foot while I was outside. Dad noticed first when I left little bloody footprints on the floor. Eew! I didn't like the sight of my own blood so I kept trying to run away from it. Mom and Dad finally caught me and took me to the bathroom to check my poor little foot.

It didn't really hurt much, but Mom was worried so she called my vet. They were already gone for the day, so Mom took me out to the emergency animal hospital. I didn't like that at all, though the people were really nice. Two hours later we got to go home.

The doctor put some special stuff on my foot and wrapped it in a big bandage, all the way to my knee! She said I have to keep it on for several days, but I already hate it! Whenever Mom's not looking, I try to chew it off. I also have to take some icky medicine to make sure my foot doesn't get infected.

I think I'll stay inside from now on. Fresh air just ain't worth all this hassle.
